Welcome to the * Couch Potato Challenge *
I created the Couch Potato Challenge because I'm sick and tired of starting a new weight loss plan, only to lose interest or run out ofsteam before the end of the first month.
The Couch Potato Challenge is a campaign designed to kick-start your weight loss/get in shape plans. Look at it like a warm-up for the main event. Imagine you've finally convinced yourself to take up Boxercise to aid weight loss, or to simply get in better shape.
Wouldn't it make sense to give yourself the best start by first taking a month to prepare your body and mind for the task ahead. That is where the Couch Potato Challenge comes in - Take the challenge, and in no time at all your mind and body will be ready to start that Boxercise class. And because you're better prepared for it, you're more likely to stick with it, and to reach your ultimate goal.
The Couch Potato Challenge will enable you to work out from the comfort of your own home in a way that is fun and doable (no set times, no hard limits). When you're ready to start working out at a Gym or Exercise Club, you'll at least know your body is prepared for the challenge.
No Exercise Classes
Seriously, if you want to get in shape and you haven't worked out in a while (or ever) then joining an exercise club and working out for 30 minutes to an hour at a time, is only going to end in tears. Take the Couch Potato Challenge, and prepare your body before hand.
No Fee's (Ever!)
Yep! It's free. No hidden costs either.
It's Fun
I have designed the Couch Potato Challenge to be fun and sociable, nobody wants to follow a plan that is strict and if I dare say it 'boring'.
The Couch Potato Challenge includes pre-challenge, challenges. These should be tackled first because they provide the foundations upon which all other challenges are based.
The remaining 30 challenges can be tackled in any order you want, and whenever you want. There is no 'arriving late to the party' here. You don't have to be in it from the beginning to join in either.
No Fee's
Did I mention it was Free to take The Couch Potato Challenge? I did! oh good....
SAVED MENUS
Who came first!
If you struggled with the Chicken, Egg problem, this'll blow your mind.

Here is our humble attempt to service the nerd who still wants to be a 'with-it' kind of dude/dudette. We
address the hip factor by celebrating the universal lubricant of coolness, i.e., beer. We cover the nerd
angle by noting that the atomic symbols for beryllium and erbium can be combined to spell Be Er. Think
of it as a combination hipster and nerd statement, making you a nerdster

The Breakfast Club

This is Why Productive People Always Wake Up So Early
Successful people are very often early risers. From Franklin to Obama, from Branson to Darwin, all were known to rise with the morning sun. Whatever their motivations, they all reaped the benefits of putting their feet on the floor before the cock opened its beak.
But why is rising early such a common trait? What is it about “Mind Over Mattress” that attracts so many famous and successful people to its clutches? Why do they drag their tired bodies to start the day super early when the rest of us are still dreaming?
The Winner's Mindset
There is a sense of control acquired from beating the inner voice. If your mind wins the battle between victim and success, things start on a high note and usually only get better. Recognising the voice is your best defense against it. When the alarm goes off and the voice tells you that you went to bed far too late to get up this early, or that five more minutes won’t hurt,
DON’T LISTEN!
Those who stay in bed won’t be competition for the big guys, but they will have to watch out for you. When you are in charge of the
inner voice, there will be no stopping you.
More Time
If you were to get up just one hour earlier each morning you would gain 15 days in a year. Scary when you put it like that. How many days of our lives do we waste sleeping? I don’t know about you, but I have too much I want to achieve to waste my life in this way. If you are time deficient, sleep less. We
only need six to seven hours a night. Any more is wasting life.
Time for Food
Breakfast is an important meal that we often neglect due to time constraints. Rushing to work with a bagel isn’t going to give you the energy or focus required to kick ass. By taking more time in the morning, you have have a healthier meal, which will make you more productive and effective.
One Step Ahead
The early risers are one step ahead of the crowd: calm, collected, and accomplished when everyone time for planning, strategic thinking, and getting organised. You will find you waste less time from being disorganised or making bad decisions. The added benefit of getting to the office first means fewer
distractions from colleagues and getting done what you planned to get done.
So if you haven’t already created the habit of early rising, start tomorrow. Go to bed an hour earlier so that you won’t be too tired. It may take a couple of days to adjust and you may not feel the benefit straight away, but stick with it. Millions of super people can’t all be wrong.
Are you an early riser? If so do you have any tips for becoming one?
It's a productivity tool.
Ben Franklin had it right when he said, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” Perhaps he got the idea from the philosopher Aristotle, who said, “It is well to be up before daybreak, for such habits contribute to health, wealth, and wisdom.”
Even proverbs like “the early bird gets the worm” suggest that getting up early enables you to be more productive. But just getting up early doesn’t automatically create the outcome you want. Rather, it’s the daily rituals you implement that make the difference. Here are
some tips to kick the New Year off to a great start.
Rise early.
Get up one hour earlier and give yourself time to ease into the day. Enjoy your coffee, read something inspirational or educational, then think about what you want to accomplish for the day.
Take a moment to review your plan for the day, making any alterations as necessary. Write down action items you’d like to take, and prioritize them into A and B lists.
Do the A items first. Try to accomplish the most tedious or daunting tasks in the morning when you’re fresh and more energised.
Exercise.
Morning exercise stimulates both the body and the mind, working out the kinks, releasing endorphins and allowing your brain to fire up for the day. To conquer your day, both your body and mind need to be healthy, fit and active
Daily exercise is also a great stress reducer. We will create and offer a quick 15-minute workout that includes crunches, jumping jacks, pushups, squats, dumbbell exercises and walk.
Meditate.
Meditation allows the mind to calm, which in turn reduces stress, brings clarity and peace of mind while enabling creative thought to enter. Give yourself the gift of 15 minutes in a serene environment to mediate and “just be” each morning. If you don’t have time to meditate, start your day with a gratitude list. Before your feet hit the floor in the morning, visualise three things for which you are grateful. Try to think of three different things each day.
Healthy eating.
Haven’t you heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day?
Plot the time in your schedule to eat a healthy breakfast with protein or complex carbohydrates that release energy throughout the day. Some of the best foods, according to an article at Health.com, include oatmeal, Greek yogurt, grapefruit and eggs.
Keep a journal.
According to Michael Hyatt, author of , journaling helps him process previous events, clarify his thinking, understand life’s context, notice his feelings, record significant lessons and ask important questions. Keep a small notebook handy for those creative ideas that come to mind when you’re exercising, meditating or eating breakfast. No matter how crazy, write them down. Reflect on them at the end of the day to see if any of them can be implemented in your daily or work life.
Continue learning.
Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World
Successful people are lifelong learners. Use your quality time in the morning to read business articles, read something inspirational, or listen to a book on CD during your commute. Make it a point to read books by or about business leaders you admire.
Getting up an hour earlier and working these rituals into your day will provide benefits beyond what you expect. They may, in fact, help you to become healthy, wealthy and wise.
